Kitchen hand pump - are they all junk? what's a good brand?

Unread post by kinghit » May 28th, 2013, 9:42 pm

Hi,i have a new Johnnos offroad deluxe camper and i am looking at replacing the hand pump in the sink which is a Trojan brand.

The reason is it's the biggest piece of crap i have come across,it leaks like a sieve and is just crap putting water all over the place when you use it.

What i would like to know is there a difference in quality of these hand pumps are they all junk .

Does anyone have one that doesn;t leak when you pump the water, and if so what brand is it.

Thanks Steve.

Look for a 'Breha' branded pump. They are supposed to be the best, so I have been told anyway....
I had one in a caravan we had previously and now have one that I connect up to the water tank on my camper (we don't have a kitchen on the tailgate as yet....) and neither have ever given any trouble.
Cheers, Dan.

hi steve if you put a tap in the water line from tank and tern off while traveling you will not have any more pump problems

I put a Trojan one in my kitchen when I built it. Leaked since day 1 and is rather annoying. Wish I knew what the one on the outside is that came on my Trackabout from new. It's 14 years old and still works perfectly.
