Are you planning on a DIY project on your camper trailer?
Let us know about it because we can help you out.

We are on the lookout for DIY projects on camper trailers for our Camper Trailer Touring mag and are willing to even supply some items/materials required.
Send us a quick brief of your intended project with a list of materials required with details and include photos of your vehicle and camper trailer.
You do the work and we’ll send our photographer to take all the photos.

Got an off road GIC trailer that is getting a few things done once the cash is built back up. Nothing major, mainly some electrical and plumbing, second water tank, strip lights, and a few other little things, maybe a touch up of the paint on the front which sand blasted off during our only trip out West in it.

Having just come back from our campers second three month trip, I have quite a few little jobs to do.
We have finally worn out our jockey wheel so the old one will need cutting off and a new one welding on.
Ditto for our rear stabiliser legs.
I am also cutting the stone guard, tool box and jerry can holders off the front draw bar and remodelling the whole front to somehow incorperate a swing out outboard holder. Also fitting up a new larger tool box.
And the flip over rack will also be modified to hold my new boat with rollers and new tie down points.

Thanks for the info Draughty, Dowelly, Moto Mech,

PM me your locations if when you get a chance, the DIY's are on hold at the moment until we get enough people from similar locations (so that we can shoot a number of DIY's at the same time).

Thanks,
Vlad

My wife and I are designing and building a custom roof top camper to suit our needs and the full length roof rack I built last year.

It needs to be light enough not to cause any stability issues for the Hilux and hold a queen sized foam mattress + clothes + board games, refreshments etc. up there comfortably when on extended tours if it is poor weather.

Will roof top campers be included too?

Cheers

we just made our box trailer into our camp trailer have a drop down table on either side and is now sitting on 4x4 rims and tires. it is like this so it can carry everything but still double it's use as a normal trailer too.

it started out like this

G'Day,

I'm looking to fit a DIY hard floor camper top to a 7 x 5 trailer. It will be a long project over around a year. But the idea is to have a fairly easily removable top to allow the trailer to be used as a box or cage trailer, then fit the camper to the top to create a fold out hard floor. Let me know if you're interested and I can bounce ideas off you all so you can be the devils advocate for me.

Cheers
Ryno

Have you thought about a fold forward type?
