Anyone can make a tube bar but whether it actually performs as it should is another story. I can make a tube bar in a couple of hours but it won't be notched, designed in a matter that stress loads are spread, side impact strength, correct mounting loads & all this while keeping the weight to a minimum & using correct materials & correct welding proceedures.

It ain't easy !!!

I spend more time on cad designing mine than i do making them. Thats why they are quick and easy to make.

6 hours in the shed is only beacause i spend at least 12 infront of the computer doing it. All my flat parts come laser cut and bent to which helps.

Yep now go out to the shed and make all those bits with a gridner, then tell us how quick and easy they are to make.

Mmm, I just want a tube bar :( But don't have the dosh to fork out atm. Might just make one myself and put up with the dodginess for a little while. I'll make the winch bracket strong enough to mount a tank cannon too so nothing bends but yeah, after blowing a CV on some ******* arsed steep hill at cruiser, I want my winch now rather then later.

i made my own, may not be as fancy as some, i added top hoops to mine for a bit more frontal protection for the grill and indicators. took me a few hours to make it, i had the plates laser cut from 8mm, and i also had access to a decent bender. including the $230 the laser cutting cost. all up cost about $400 to make, thats including grinder discs MIG wire pipe etc.

Mmm I found some 6mm plate sitting in dads shed which i can have, so i was going to get to base plates cut out and then doubled up. Cause i don't really trust 6mm. Its like $150 for a 1000mm x150mm x 8mm plate as well.

Plan is to have big plate running flat under chassis, with supports bolting onto chassis with gussets, then front plate outta 6mm i guess with fairlead. From there i'll just work my magic with dodgy pipe bender and 1.5" and 2" pipe lol. See how i go.
