avatar wont change am i doing it wrong?

hi i go into edit my profile delete the picture and save
then i go back into it and browse for a picture select the one i want but there is no upload button so i just save it but my old picture that i deleted comes back. where am i going wrong?
i have also tried it without deleting the old pic and also logged out each time just in case but still not working

howd ya guess?

nah just the last time i was able to get the camper out (april 2012... i ought to be ashamed of myself)

yeah but i got good reasons

wife was pregnant even for that trip and then she had a few illnesses until the baby was born including a bung back then after baby was born there are the usual waiting periods for him to settle down (want to enjoy the trip not be awake all night to a screaming baby and dealing with unhappy tired campers around us) then xmas etc and now i gotta save $$$ as work wants to cut our hours and pay so...
