I heard the Dalbeg track has the gates locked, due to change of ownership Does anyone know if that rumour is true, or has anyone been recently?

Cheers

Disregard. It's still open. We went there on the weekend, and have to say, it was quite busy. Here's the blog post from the weekend: http://www.explore-townsville.com/4wdin ... river.html

If you're a Townsville or North Queensland local, we'd love for you to join us on Facebook, too. ;)

We live in Townsville and we love going to Dalbeg! The fact that it's only an hour south of Townsville is just awesome. It is one of the best places ever to experience a range of 4WDing and some really great camping and fishing! :D :D :D ...........

Here's some pics of our last trip there!

So took the family out to dalbeg this weekend for some 4wd action, fishing and a spot of camping. What a great spot. Got a few fish, seen no crocs at all. Really liked it and are already planning the next trip out there :). Was also good to see the camp sites left clean

Word on street is that the gate has again been locked, apparently just in the last week. Due to new owners, cattle being shot and people illegaly pig hunting on the property. Can anyone confirm if this true? Appeared as a notice in a local paper saying it would be locked? This is not the first time it has happened if its true. Apart from the fact that it is a public access road. Shame idiots ruin it for a few
