I love threads like this one. Showed the wife and her comment was why haven't we done that its beautiful? I just smacked my head in disgust. I've been hassling her for 2 years now to go to Camerons corner and have a look around. She goes why don't we go for a couple of weeks in mid October. My reply was ok. So all things going well it's on :).

You won't regret it, though it'll be starting to get a little warm then. Roads might be open by then!

I was in the 200 that Geoff pulled out. As he mentioned there was about 3" clearance under each wheel so we couldn't get any weight on the maxtrax (being belly down). For the same reason I don't believe the shade cloth helped at all. On either side of the ruts, the going was really firm and once I was off my belly I drove out behind Geoff under my own power (he was so excited he just kept going :) )

It was a brilliant trip!
