Timing chain 2001 Grand Vitara

Unread post by eyspy » April 24th, 2015, 2:24 pm

I have a 2001 Grand Vitara with the 2.5L V6 engine.
Timing chain is noisy as buggery and the hours to replace it by a mechanic shop is enormous.
I am mechanically minded, but have never replace on before but I have the time and workshop to do it at my leisure.

Thing is I do not have a workshop manual that covers the procedure in full.
Will the Gregory or Ellory workshop manuals cover this procedure ? Where can I buy one of these manuals if they do ?

Anyone done this themselves before that is not a mechanic and can share their experience with me ?

Ya might find its just the tensioner that is stuffed, so easy fix.

Suprcheap or Ripco have a heap of those manuals, or online.
