lift kit 2003 GV

Unread post by mas75 » July 28th, 2011, 6:56 pm

Hi guys. I just got a 2003 GV and would like any ideas on a good lift kit. Also the best BG Goodrich AT size for it. Thanks

225 / 70 16. I have Maxxis AT 771 that work well.

try - http://outdoorauto4x4.com/b/22764/1/suzuki-vitara.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

for tyres you can go a 245/70/16 in an at or 225/75/16 in a mud or a 235/70/16
all these tyres will rub slightly you will have to bend a small tab in the front wheel arch to clear them when turning

also you will loose a little power and the sppedo will be out by 8Ks at 100

Thanks for that guys, and thanks for the heads up on the speedo reading change. I was thinking there would be a change but wasnt sure how much.

Lift Kit: Ironman ($700 through Bursons)
Did the rear myself and got Ironman to do the front for $100.

Tyres: Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts. 245/70/16 ($215 each, supply/fit).
Only just fit, scrub the inside front guard when on full lock.

The lift kit and bigger tyres combination gave me a 65mm lift overall.

Thanks Mitch123. About how long have you had the kit and are you happy with it.

Got the lift kit about 2 years ago. Felt a bit stiff at first but quickly settle down and haven't had any problems. Very happy with the extra height has certainly helped when out on the tracks. Would have preferred getting some mud tyres for that extra grip, next time....

It's an electronic speedometer - fairly easy to correct - Jaycar has a kit that can do it.

This is a very old thread, but thought i'd attempt to revive it!
How is the ironman lift going? I'm currently chasing one for my new 02 GV and would love to know how it's held up!

Also, does anyone know the biggest tyres that will fit onto the GV with no lift? do 245/70/16 in normal road tyres fit with no rubbing? (I've been travelling on pretty tough tracks with HT tyres while it's relatively dry and no complaints tbh!)
