1997 TJ Wrangler - What's stock height?

Unread post by bravoboy300 » March 21st, 2014, 2:35 pm

Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me what the stock height of a TJ wrangler SWB 97 model is? From say the bottom of the rim to the flare? Trying to locate parts for one at work but the owner doesnt know if its lifted or by how much. I seem to think it is.

cheers,

Trav

Whats happening is the ball joint in the drag link gets caught on the bottom steering damper bolt.. looks as though it may need a dropped pitman arm to bring the drag link down and away from the damper... A bloke I spoke to in Brisbane says you hit the bottom steering damper mount with a hammer to bend it back approx 5mm... seems a bit barbaric to me though.... appreciate your help

Use the Road vehicle descriptor sheet for your vehicle. You will need your approval number of your compliance plate.

So after talking to a jeep guru he reckons dropped pitman arms are more trouble than they're worth.... what're your opinions? I like the idea of the pitman arm over physically bending the steering damper mount.. in my eyes that will weaken the bracket.
