1974 CJ5 ground up resto

Unread post by SchmidtHead » April 5th, 2015, 8:05 pm

Gday all,

Im currently working on a 1974 cj5 and am going to be rebuilding it from the ground up. Its been stripped down to the chassis now and there are parts that can be saved and parts that are too damaged to use again. A friend suggested i purchase a complete wreck of a jk or tj jeep and cannibilise it to save on things like brake lines, shock towers, engine mounts, wiring etc. Does anyone have any idea on which of these jeeps would be most compatible?

The TJ and JK are made by a completely different company to the CJ. You might as well buy a toyota for parts. Nothing is compatible

Rockauto, Quadratrac etc in the USA will be your friend.

That said, there is a strong CJ crew in Brisbane who can help
