B2600 efi idles wont drive
Any techs out there got a rough diagnosis for a B2600 EFI it runs beaut on gas but on petrol it will idle happily and rev up slowly to full revs but dies if you put the boot into it. Have changed the fuel filter got good spark. Suspect O2 sensor or map sensor fault. Any ideas???????
Re: B2600 efi idles wont drive
i have a b2600, and it doesnt have a O2 sensor... are you sure yours has? whats your air filter like? and is the fuel pressure good?? should be 250-300KPa

have you tried the MAF(mass air flow sesor) being on gas has it backfired thus blowing MAF apart try disconnecting wiring to MAF then give it a run on the road.
Re: B2600 efi idles wont drive
fuel pressure is good has a new fuel filter and air filter. yes it has backfired in the past. Does disconnecting the MAF sensor allow it to run on petrol?? It runs fine on gas.
Re: B2600 efi idles wont drive
vechile turned off, disconnect wiring to MAF, on petrol start it then drive it, it should rev smoother it probadly wont idle or have a very low RPM but it should tell you if the MAF is the cause of the issue. Then you will need to replace it, i would suggest put a flap in the airbox so it blows the flap out not the MAF.
You can buy the flap at a LPG supplier
If the MAF is ok you should check fuel pressure and flow was the filter blocked when you removed it eg hard to blow through.
It does sound like a MAF fault especially if it has backfired.

I know this is a a while after the origonal post but ihave just joined the forum. I have 93 dualcab Bravo which would do the same. Fine on gas but on petrol no accelleration . Would get to about 90kmh in 5th if accelleration was very slow (part throttle). Ended up being the computer, replaced the computer with a known good one from a wreck and all is good again. Mazdatruckin.com is a excellent American forum with heaps of info. Also for computer repair Avpro ECM int states is the place to go according to this forum
