I asked about 235/85/16 before, as it's a common size of Land Rover users in Europe.
On their forums you can read that their 4x4's handles better on this size, rather than 265/75/16.
235/85 should be better in mountains and snow (from what I read).
But it seems most of you guys went for 265/75/16 so you can't be wrong, and so that's a choice for ranger.
I'm going to order a set of Nexen MT tires next month, so will put a photo on -20 ET rims.
Was going to get Toyos MT, but Nexens are almost 1/3 cheaper, and people say good things about them so I'm going to give 'em a try :D

Hi Nico.

I'm running Bridgestone Dueler D697 AT's, great tire mate, nice and quiet and good grip on the black stuff (although not quite as good as the original 265-60-18 Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport road tires). Good grip in almost all off road situations and self clean pretty good in that sticky clay crap. They air down to about 15psi with no problems, have been to 10psi for short periods without one coming off.

I'm running then on 8" sunnies.

Cheers.

Unread post by dan_ranger » August 12th, 2014, 6:08 pm

Hey guys my names dan, i bought myself an 08 manual ranger with 80,000k's awaiting pickup on friday :D

would like some advice from those who have the same on wheel widths and what i can fit etc,

the ranger has
- Bull bar
- Spot lights
- Side steps
- Near new duel batteries with 2 * 12 v outlets to tray
- Heavy duty tray with trundle draw and ladder racks
- tow bar
- Upgraded ironman suspension
- ERPS electronic rust protection

it has full iron man suspension, i bought this of an old guy so im not sure if its been lifted or what.
i would like to fit some sunraysias and at least 31 inch all terrains, could you guys share some light on this?

Thanks!!

I have a PJ O8 dual cab auto. I have replaced my 15" wheels with 16x7 Kings sunraysias with Hankook 245/75 16" (about 30.5"). I have 2 " tough dog lift. I plan on putting 31" mud tyres on the 15" rims for local trips.

To fit 31" you don't need any aftermarket lift.
Cranking your torsion bars will do just fine.
I had 31x10.5 R15 General Grabbers AT2 on ET0, 8" rims.
I'd choose BFG AT instead of GG though.
Tire wear wasn't satisfying at all.

16x8 sunnies zero offset, 265-70-16 = 31"s. Fit perfect and bring the tyres out to the edge of the guard flairs.

I run Bridgestone AT LT's, they run nice and quiet, wear well, I'm a happy camper

Overall? I'm very happy with the result. Only major drama was you have to get the grinder and tin snips out!

I have got a 2009 pk wildtrak

I had 265-60-18 on the stamdard rims.. No issues on scrubbing

I moved to the 31" 10.5 on 15" sunrasia no issues on scrubbing

I now have 285-60-18 on the standard rims.. They fit beautiful.. Besides a small scrub on the plastic guard. I have bent the brace up a bit.. And they fit great

The tortion bars have been cranked a little.. Just to level the ute out. Way before i through the 285's on

Couple of shots of my truck.
15x8 -26 CSA sunraysias
31x10.5 Hankook Dynapro MT tyres
Scrubbed on front guards. Cut away inner guard behind bumper and heated and bent back flare and mudflap. Rears fit fine.
32"s would be too much on this offset. But AT's might be easier.
They hang out the guards about an inch but I think the stance looks great

Hey all, just my 2 cents worth,
Put a set of 265/75R16 on before xmas truck lost bout 15% power and chewed about an extra 60km of fuel each tank.
I have now taken them of and gone back to a 245/75R16 which I reckon is the largest you want to go with out losing heaps of power high fuel consumption and regearing your truck. You guys with 33's must have pretty slow going trucks!
