hey guys I was wondering if the a 2013 dmax has enough room to put a 265/75r16 spare wheel up underneath with the standard towbar? and if not what have people done?

A 265/75 is 20mm wider and 54mm taller than standard. My 265/70 which are only 28mm taller fit without issue.

Hi im thinking of getting some 17x9" rims with +25 off set for my 2013 dmax 4x4 standard height atm but will lift it soon
the tyre store reckons they will fit no probs but been told by someone else that they wont to wide 8" wheels max plus I guess I will need 285 min tyres to suit which have been told they wont fit either but I have seen a heap of dmax with 20x9"
just wondering if anyone has try to fit them what off sets and did they rub

DON"T ever believe a tyre store if you don't want to be disappointed. They may not know. Just how would they know anyway?

Work it all out yourself so you know what is happening and can then be confident with the decision/result you are aiming for.

Just booked in to get a tough dog 2 inch lift and some 285/70/R17's on my '14 D-Max.

Salesman at OL assured me I wouldn't get any rubbing?

Will 285s fit the OEM 7" rims? Also as they are 40 mm wider than stock I reckon they will rub. My 265s only have about 15 mm clerance at full lock.

285 will use MORE fuel than a 265 purely because of the width.
265 will use more fuel than a 245 because of the width.
Also if the tyre dia is more than stock then the vehicle will use more fuel.

The factories work this stuff out long before selling the vehicle, they are not idiots, they know what works with their ECU programming and gear ratios and torque versus fuel use.
Aussies think they can improve everything.]

yeah im still not decided on whether to upgrade to 245/75/16 or just get a set of good LT 245/70/16, I don't mind a tiny bit of loss in economy and power but this my first auto and worried about affect on gearing.......

Mate, I fitted Bridestone 697s 265/70R16 and really could not notice any loss of power and increase in fuel economy. I know there probably was, just I couldn't notice any. I have an auto.
