Pic attached (sorry for shitty phone camera - It has crap in behind the lens cover)

Used Matte Black Plasti-dip on the stock X-Runner rims - Will see how it lasts off road, will likely just patch it up as needed and do 2 fresh coats everytime I rotate tyres (5000km)

Thanks!

Its a synthetic rubber (I think) spray, it peels off in one big sheet if you dont like it. Google it - There are heaps of videos on youtube of people who have painted their whole car with it.

Auto-one and a few others sell it for like $35 a can, I got 4 cans delivered for $65 off Ebay. Used just over 2 for my rims.

Hi Guys,

I'm running Hankook Dynapro ATM 265/70/17 on Speedy 17" rims with a Tough Dog 2 inch lift kit. Works well with no scrubbing. I have unfortunately been through 2 of the Hankook tyres in 3 months in the bush, now looking at the Mickey Thompson ATZp3.

I have been seriously considering the Hankook ATM's in your size and I am now having second thoughts. I would be interested to know how you went through two tyres in 3 months. Cheers, Greg

You'll have trouble fitting them without a lift. Considering standard diameter is 750mm, most 265/75-16 are over 800mm, more like 810mm. Most states are now allowing up to 50mm over standard, so up to 800mm.

I run 245/75-16's in MT when out having fun which are aroun 780mm, and have never been anywhere where I've wished I had bigger tyres on my RA7

I started my own lift thread but wasn't getting a lot of joy, any body have any idea what these shackles are?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2012-Onwards ... 2598ec3fcb

I found a "test video" but it really doesn;t tell me what the advantages are or what they do.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfK2o_ZDnpg

Are they a type of drop shackle or what? (coz drop shackles are clearly illegal, but so are extended shackles apparently, lol)

That video shows nothing. It is just on a paved road.

Lord Muck, they do look like they are just a different attempt at an extended shackle, altho on most with a design like that, the pivot bit is meant to allow more droop when the folded up section flops down, effectively extending the shackle even further & supposedly letting you go further. However, the design is flawed as it only lets the folded up section drop when there is no weight over that wheel, making the extra droop pretty useless because the wheel won't have enough weight resting on it to provide any increased traction anyway... :(

But I didn't see any of that action in the vid either - like amtravic said, the vid shows nothing!! Besides, there are less expensive ways of wasting money on suspension mods. ;)
