Recurring engine problem

Unread post by oyvindbl » January 6th, 2019, 4:22 am

I have a 2012 D-Max with a 2.5ltr Euro5 engine of 120 kw.
It has 207000 km on the odometer and I have had some problems the last year.
I live on a island and the tunnel here is having a steep road of 10.5 degrees.
Every time I drove through it the engine went into limp mode with a fault code of diesel pressure in the common rail (some times too high and some times sensor trouble).
I had the car to a repair shop. They put in new software and 2 days later the fault came back. Then they found a broken wire on an air sensor and put in a new one. Problem solved for 2 months. Today the problem came back.
2.5km up the hill (after 1.5 km of 10.5degrees) it went into limp mode with SVS lamp and stuff.
Does anyone have any experience with such problems? I can't afford to drive 2 hours to the shop and having them change something else which just might solve the problem. I need them to be sure the problem gets solved.

Been here a while

Maybe the suction control valve?

Return to “DMax”
