Daihatsu F10, F/glass Body, seized motor - what's it worth??

Unread post by radste » January 6th, 2014, 6:24 pm

Hi everyone I am new to this forum & need some guidance.
I have just acquired a F10 with a fiberglass body, seized motor, Very rusty chassis
and was wondering what it is worth (if anything) or should it just go straight to the scrappies?

Thanks in advance
Steve

There was a company qld that made fibre glass jeep style bodies for daihatsu. Is that what you have?? If so there is a good chance someone with a rusty f10/20 etc would be keen. And scrap all the rusty/seized running gear

Are you able to post a pic

I was looking for one of those bodies a few years ago when my f20 got to rusty.
Does it have a name/compliance plate on it some where
They used to make a fj40 land cruiser. Body as well

if you are looking for a motor, Daihatsu and Toyota are basically the same company and many Toyota engines were used in early Daihatsu vehicles, so a Toyota engine might slot straight in.

Hi,unfortunately the chassis is well beyond repair, so it will be strip & sell job.
No idea about the running gear though, it may still be salvageable.

Thanks Steve

i like it. you might be better off using a suzuki chassis/runnung gear. would be easier to find then a f series daihatsu.

Hey, my idea was to just stick a motor in if & return it to it's owner but when we saw the amount of chassis rust we decided it would be to unsafe even for a farm truck so it was decided to part it out & sell off the usable parts to someone who can use them.

I have a good rust free chassis if you're interested in putting it back together, it's in Sydney though.
