Far from home? Did you try to dodgy it up for a bit, or just put it on a trailer?

Ah it happened while I was in town on the way back from uni, luckily only about a km from my uncles work where it got welded together and nursed back to his place where work started on it today. We are bracing it up and making it strong and am going to get a set made up that are stronger and have a rose joint at the chassis.

I read another post about it. Getting a set made bespoke here, or are you getting some from bloodred?
I gave mine a real good inspection today because of you! I ordered some Dobinsons 2" lifted springs yesterday, and I dont want the control arms breaking on me. They are fine, with no sign at all of metal fatigue. Lucky.

I was going to get some from blood red but the cost of them is a bit pricey and if I get some made here I can get it cheaper and have someone to deal with directly.
After having a good look at the trailing arms they are pretty bad quality as a lot of the welds are pretty poor and either don't join anything or they are just poor quality, so this will definitely be a upgrade for me.

I would be adding a wrap strap from the arm up to and around the rubber bush and then back down to the cross web on the bottom side. Suitably welded it shouldn't let go again. Just a minimal design it seems.

Oh no Kalla - exactly what happened to mine! You can get a replacement from Toyota it's a bit pricey I think I paid $280 but actually the weld is not so good on it. I think the Blood Red ones would be much better quality if you can afford them.

yeah I looked at toyota I wont bother with cost for one though. I've got mate that works with stuff like this and he is thinking he could make some for around 250-300 for a pair so that will be the way ill be going.

I've got a spare one - the old one off the other side which was welded. I'm seriously thinking of getting a pair of the bloodred ones though, I had a look on the website and they have a special offer on 239.95 (pounds) for a pair. I'm thinking the cost's going to be worth it as they are really solid.

Yeah they definitely look solid, when I emailed them they said shipping was 75 pounds so about 135 au, so about $560,
I'm trying to bug a machinist buddy to help me make something like along the lines of the bloodred ones, hopefully we can do it for a bit cheaper.
But If you do go for the bloodred ones, let us know how it goes.

So I have now got the bloodredeoffroad control arms but it turns out they are too long! The guy is sending some new inserts for them and I am going to get them altered by an engineer. Hopefully they will be right then..
