Got or want bigger tyres? Come in here!

Unread post by Nemesis » September 12th, 2014, 4:29 pm

Originally started as a research topic years ago in the utes sections, the tyre topics are so popular it's time to start an new info archive in each sub section, not just for the ute people!

What we want is a collective tried and tested database of info on what works for your model fourby. No hearsay!

So, if you have upgraded your tyre size, let us know what had to be done and whether there is any or no scrubbing. What year/model, how much suspension lift, body lift, wheel off set, guard cutting/massaging, gear changes etc? You get the drift.

Fire away and feel free to post supporting pictures!

Frontera wheels

Unread post by Mattyjenko » November 14th, 2015, 10:54 am

Hi guys. Im very new to forums and 4x4 so take it easy on me :). I have a 99 holden frontera 4door wagon 4x4. I am wanting to upgrade the rims and wheels, seems finding wheels is quite hard. I see alot of 6 stud rims out there but have been told about offsets. I currently have standard wheels on it now but would like to upgrade to some bigger 31" wheels. Would i need to seek help from a professional or is any 6 stud pattern ok? Eg. Wheels from triton or pajero etc? Thanks in advance matt

Just got some 265/70 R16 Tyres on MX Sport 2 Door with

Sunrasia 16 X 7.0 25mm offset 6/139 rims.
Car has 2" Lift, only rubs on the back of the front guard on full lock. nothing a little persuasion with some cutters cant fix.
