MU's Speed Sensor

Unread post by acousticjase88 » July 28th, 2009, 9:38 pm

My mates, automatic transmission, MU has gone into a safety mode of some type...and is only staying in third gear....his mechanic has said that the speed sensor at the rear of the gear box needs replacing......i think it copped a blow whilst offroading...the mechanic said that the part isnt available in australia...but new zealand has it.....

my question is this....is that true? or can this sensor be found in australia?(better yet, SA?)

If anyone can be of help, that would be sweet!...im just writing what the mechanic has said to my mate...so hopefully its enough info and understandable..

the MU has the same sensor as the Rodeo and Jackaroo and can be bought from AMCAP Distribution as a genuine part

hadnt checked this in couple months! cheers for feedback! it was fixed...not sure what part they needed exactly in the end....but then they realised the gearbox needed a full rebuild...cost like $3000...so its a brand new gearbox now....the previous owner used the MU to tow a caravan its whole life! so it was rooted.

all good now though...
