What's the trick for heater hose repl on my Jackaroo?

Unread post by PaulaS » September 10th, 2015, 1:40 pm

Hi, My 2000 Jackeroo had a minor coolant leak at the back of the engine and when my mechanic Uncle checked it out, he just disconnected or bi-passed the heater to fix the problem quickly for me, so I could drive it with no water leaks for now.... but leaving me without my heater working. He said that it looks like the entire engine will have to come out just to fix the 2 water hoses and will be very expensive just to have the heater working again. I desperately want my heater back and wondered if any Jackeroo people knew of an easier solution to replacing these hoses without removing the motor??? Is there any other way to replace the hoses??? My Uncle is also doing some research into it (to try to save me money on labour) as he hasn't had much to do with Jackeroos.
TIA, Paula.
PS- I don't know much about car terminology etc, so try to put it in dumby terms if possible.
