2001 Jackaroo - A/C belt failed, now no start?! Any Ideas?

Unread post by Findin- out » March 25th, 2014, 4:57 pm

Got my jack early last year and until about 10 weeks ago never a problem... My air con belt snapped so number one son got another and replaced it . All good car starts he takes it for a drive belt to tight and snaps so he turn car of removes what left of belt goes to drive home but car won't start. Got lube mobile out to look at it they say fuel injector so sent it to fuel injector mob 9 weeks later they still don't know why it won't start so was wondering if anyone had any ideas please

What engine is in it?
Can't see how a tight belt is going to snap.
If the belt has gone walkies and it is a V6 then it possibly has damaged the crank sensor and then it won't start.

Shouldn't take 9 weeks to fix. Are they casting a new engine block and machining all the holes to size or something similar?
In 9 weeks anyone could replace every part of the vehicle and that would fix it.
Did you say it is at a fool injector place?

Is it a 4Jx1 engine?
They can have a number of things wrong and all stop it from starting.

Low oil level , low oil pressure, wrong oil viscosity.
I am not familiar with those if it is a 4Jx1

If it is the only thing is to find someone who is familiar with them. Auto elecs won't be, Most fuel injection places won't have a clue. most diesel places won't know either. Maybe an enthusiast at a Holden dealer will.
Try Australia4wd forum, there are blokes there who own and know them.

Check the camshaft position sensor.. its right in the path of a whipping broken AC belt.
