Rodeo Recall

Unread post by Waters 87 » June 14th, 2009, 6:27 pm

Hi, has anyone heard about a recall on the 07 rodeo's. It has something to do with cardon build up on the valve and injectors?

The recall is for 07ra built up to about June 07, some injector retaining bolts were not tightened correctly causing carbon build up, the recall is to inspect for carbon buildup and check the torque of the injector bolts. If it has carbon build up then the engine will be replaced with a new fan to clutch engine.

You should have got a letter if yours is affected by the recall providing you are the original owner or have updated your details with Holden, If you are concerned about it pm me your VIN and I will check it for you.

Why i asked is because my bosses son's rodeo sounds like its dropped a valve this morning. He mentioned something about the recall when he dropped it off at the shed.

Found out what happnened to the bosses son's rodeo. It looks like the sump has been pushed up all of about 3mm and has kinked the oil pick up line. So the motor has run without surficent oil. What a design fault having the oil pick up line 3mm off the bottom and at the front of the sump?????

it's pretty common to dint the sump, the noise is normally lack of oil at the timing chain, I have seen a lot of sumps straightened out and no engine problems later on.
I would never take one of these off road without a decent bash plate (not the factory piece of tinfoil)

The funny thing is that the place where the pick up is there isn't any bash plate at all lol. And all that ute has done is pig hunting around banana and cane farms.

Sounds like mine, just bought it coupla weeks ago, sent the change of owner details but haven't heard anything about it. Where can I track this down? might explain why I'm not too impressed with fuel economy.
