95 tf duel cab
2.5" suspension, 2" bodylift = 285/75 16 mtz's (33's) on 16 x 8 patrol offset rims,
Still scrub a little on suspension compression while turning,
Patrol offset is -28 i think from memory.

i have just bought a set of 265/70R15's on a set of 15/7 sunnies for my tf rodeo, im running stock suspension and tyres are rubbing on some bumps and sometimes when turning, will a 40mm body lift fix this? im only an apprentice and dont really wanna spend big bucks on a suspension lift so im trying to find the cheapest way.

Got bigger tyres? Come in here

Unread post by squiddy93 » November 4th, 2012, 9:23 pm

G'day everyone,

I am new to the world of 4x4 and have just bought a 97 rodeo 2.8L td, stock as a rock and i want to put new wheels and tyres on it as the tyres could do with replacing, was looking at all terrains or some kind of mud/ sand tyres and after looking around online i cant find anything to helpful, was just wondering if anyone had any advice on what
i could get and where to get them. any advice would be muchly appreciated.

Hi Breno,

Not trying to be a douche or anything, but i can see its your first post, and as you are new and keen to 4x4ing you'll probably be here a bit more often. If you check out the "Search Forums" at the top of the thread listing thingo, just type basically anything in there and no doubt it has been covered before, saves threads getting filled up with random questions/stories/photos, you name it people will write it.
Just typing in TYRE CHOICES or similar will no doubt bring up probably 100 threads on peoples experiences with tyres, whether to go a full knobby mud tyre, versus a more suited AT tyre, wheel size offset blah blah, its almost endless.
Best bet to pick up a copy of 4WD Action with a big tyre comparo, ring around some tyre/4x4 shops and ask, or check out the "Rodeo Pics" section - if you see any nice wheel/tyre combos, emulate them!

Have fun, lots of reading a learning!

When the common rail motor was introduced the for the ra7 the diff ratios were also changed.
RA v6 manuals and all diesel models were 4.3:1.
RA v6 automatics were 4.77:1.
Not to sure what ratio RA7 is.

I'd ask the tyre retailer. You'll probably get a discount on the wheels if buying tyres too.

To add to the thread, I now have 265*75*16 BFG AT KO under my 2000 model TF crew cab using the factory fitted sports rims. I added a 2" body lift to make them fit.
