Hello All

My father asked if I could find out about compression values for his Toyota Landcruiser FZJ 105.

He recently got it serviced to take on another caravan trip and the compression the mechanics invoice came back as below.

125, 125, 120, 120, 130 and 120.

Do these sound OK??

IF the figures shown are meant to be psi then I think they may be a little low!!

That said, I haven't really kept up with petrol Toyota engines, & I really don't know what the correct figures should be for the FZJ 105 but I have a feeling in the aging recesses of my mind that you should be looking for psi of OVER 170 psi, with a MINIMUM of 130 psi, & variation of no more than +/- 15 psi ...... and if the figures I've put up are even vaguely right (& btw, I'm happy for someone to correct me if they aren't, I'm really dredging the depths here!! Petrol!!! Uuurgh! :gurn: ) then he's only got 1 cyl that's within spec! :o

Hi Peter

Thanks for the reply, I'll get him to ask his mechanic if they were measured in psi and report back. :)

Spec's should be 115 to 150 psi so your mechanics report is good.

Nice and even and anything over 110 will still go okay. Cheers.
