My missus and i picked up a hilux to work on as a comp 4wd instead of smashin up the 80 series i have.

We picked it up a 1981 Toyota hilux RN46 with a 202 holden engine and auto no transfer case, good body - shortened tray and chassis and cheese cutters 235 tyres.

The plan for it is a new engine gearbox combo, haven't decided between a range of engines, a commdore V6 with auto, 253 with auto, Ford engine 4.1 with auto or 351, toyota engine, and lastly a 3.5 range rover engine with auto. Also will be making my own sliders, tube winch bar, adding sport seats and harness, suspension lift, unsure about adding body lifts too. Thinking of using my spare 32 inch BFG muddies for it or the 35 Baja Claws.

I have a few pictures for you guys to look at. ;D

Have you thorught about a Lexus V8 for the new donk? I reckon it'd be a top motor for a comp truck.

I never pass on a oppurtunity to recomend a lexus V8.................or 35's for that matter ;D

Looks like your keen to run an auto in the beast too.....there is some good tech here for how to run the surf auto's behind the lexus V8.

Not planning on doing a lexus 1UZFE transplant in this one, later on down the tracks my original plan was to buy a 80 series body and chop it up into a single cab ute and chuck in the lexus engine ;)

I already have a spare 80 series chassis sitting at home
