arms to rotate for caster and longer shocks with lifted springs are the only suspension mods on the 80 so far, a 3 link front will be next I think....

This is the top of the golden crack on golden spike trail, he tells me he drove it without the lockers in too....bragger....LOL

If you knew a tyre fitter & was up this way, we could make a weekend of swapping over (if you wanted to save some $$$$)

errr nice that it can flex like that but it's rti might not be that good looking at the wheel base i think pete's cruser could beat it but still. how big are those tires. and um what is it ??? i couldn't pick it?

11-05-2003, 05:31 PM
RTI is a wank factor for show anyway, just a flex test, doesnt equate to anything in the bush.

They are 44" tyres, and its a four runner.

Ramps. I have a set for the car, but will not put under the cruiser. Max load is 750kg & I reckon that would be a bit dangerous.
Anyway, the cruiser is high enough off the ground for me to slide around nicely on my kreeper.

Well in the case of most of pic pics used here - all that's put up is a link to the pic - the pic itself still remains on the parent site...

MTB4x4MAD
14-05-2003, 03:43 PM
How do you link the picture from the site to the forum then? ???

wooders
14-05-2003, 03:54 PM
Find a pic you want - ANY pic (as long as it's on the net)....
Then right click on the pic and select properties.
In the popup window you's see the pic file name & location - select & copy the entire string.
Click on the above button http://www.4wdmonthly.com.au/forum/YaBBImages/img.gif and you'll see a block of code pop into the message window.
The first <img> is the open of the code & the </img> is the closing of the code - so then you just paste the copied pic name&path directly after the first <img>.....and when you clicl on post below the pic should show....
And here endish the first lesson in UBB101 ;)

BTW you'll noe I use the "<>" style brackets - well if I use the proper "[]" brackets the code would have been invoked ;)

A note to Wooder and friends:

Just because an image is on the net does not mean it’s free to post at other sites. Even if the image stays on the parent site. In this case you’re stealing the parent sites bandwidth, and most websites are limited by how much bandwidth they can use, so every time someone views the image, that your link is loading, you’re costing them money.

I represent I website that has a total of 23 images (5.6megs) that this website is stealing, in the way of bandwidth and has been going on for a few months now. I’m not going to name the website, because other actions to rectify the situation are under way.

But I would caution everyone, Wooders train of thought is illegal. And anyone wanting to post an image from another website should at least ask them if it’s okay. It probably is as long as you site the link to there website. When asked, we have little problem with people using our images, with exceptions. When people are inconsiderate and don't ask, we take offense, because they are taking our images or other images on our site that maybe copyrighted by others, with no credit to the source.

Get it right buddy.
I don't think Wooders is to blame here mate. If you want to blame someone for encouraging this & posting the pics, blame that person, & wouldn't that be me.
If you think I am stealing pics form you site, I am sorry that you feel that way, but also thought that the internet is a public place & if you did not want your pics posted elsewhere, then you would at least put a warning regarding that.
Also this "Bandwidth" being generated to your site, although unforunate, does create an advertising opportunity for you to advertise your site(s).
If some of the pics I have posted are from your site, & you do not want them here, pm me on which ones & I will happily remove them.

Quin
06-06-2003, 10:12 AM
Because it's on the web boes not mean it's free for anyone to use.

“Hotlinking” is a crime and is illegal. If someone is encouraging someone to comate a crime, the person doing the crime is to blame, not the person who encouraged it. Since the site I am with is in the US, http://www.loc.gov/copyright/ is where you can find laws about hotlinking theft.

The internet is a public place, with copyrighted material, even intellectual copyrighted material such as text or images. The library is a public place but you can not take books out of the building. By loading images to another site that’s what you’re doing.

"Bandwidth" being generated to your site, although unfortunate, does create an advertising opportunity for you to advertise your site(s).

How does this create an advertising opportunity for my site? Unless a user right clicks on the image to find out where its being stole from, they do not know it’s from another site.

Posting cool images builds this sites community, which is great, unless it’s someone else’s images. It’s like hooking your hose up to my faucet to fill your swimming pool. You maybe able to see my faucet from the street, but that does not give you the right to use it as you wish.

This site has a disclaimer which all users agree to whether read or not. It prohibits users from posting copyrighted material:

unless the copyright is owned by you or you have consent from the owner of the copyrighted material”…. ”violation of ANY law” ….. “You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages”.

This means you are responsible for your own posts, and copyrighted material shall not be posted.

I will not point out which images I’m referring too, as I said other maters are being taken to rectify this issue.

If there was a warning on you site claiming the content is subject to copyright, then the your comments would be true, As it was not at the time of the link, it is not & any information not claiming to be subject to copyright is nor protected by that law.
As for removing a book from a library, I don't know what sort of libraries you have over there, but we can borrow books from a library & also can photocopy content of books here as well, mostly for personal use.

On most of the pics I make available to the web, I edit all of my images & put text on the image to advertise where it has come from, something which is quite easy for you to do if you wish to, but as most people would rather rush to show off what they can do, fail to do this.

Yes this site does have a disclaimer claiming that, & as I mentioned earlier in this response, as the site(s) in question did not have any claim that content from them is protected by copyright, then they are not.
If you are now trying to get that done, then good luck to you & like I said before, if you want them removed, I am happy to do so.

The libraries we have here require a library card, which is expressed written permission to use the item.

The website I’m referring to does have information about copyrighting and has for 4 years now, it’s under the link “copyright info” if you have troubles finding it. We have over 15,000 users who can verify this. So how you claim that the site in question did not have the information when the images where stolen, is flat out wrong.

The purpose of the images on the site are for a specific use and putting my info on the image would void that purpose, nor should I need to because they are images for my website and is illegal to be used elsewhere.

I actions that are being taken are not on our end; we will not modify the content on our site to adjust for people stealing, but rather stop the stealer. This issue is in the hands of the site owners to rectify.

I have NOT linked ANY pictures from your site.
I did explian how to put up a pic - That is NOT a crime.
The picture I linked to was actually an image from THIS site.

Since you seem eveident in portraying yourself as richardhead - how about showing us just WHERE under that fancy link to copyright that hotlinking INTO your site is a crime - because at a quick glance I couldn't see where any CRIME had been committed.

So how about you pull your head out of your arse and be a bit more open.

OK now WTF....
1. This site is only new (Aprilish) - and with VERY few members...so just how the heck is this having a meaningful impact on your Bwidth.....
2. 5.6meg & 23 files = average of 243k each... the LARGEST file in these 2 pages is only 157kb....

Wooders,
I know how you feel buddy, that's why I went after it from the word go & also reported it's actions to the moderators for them to follow up.
I know there are a few people here with you mate.

Please consider the "him" statment withdrawn, it shall just have to now prove itself otherwise.

right click on it.

click on properties at the end of the little list

select the address ie: http;//whatevere what ever....

highlight it and then copy that (ctrl c) address and paste it into your search bar and hit go

almost always works, but sometime it won't

You will probably find that the pics with a little cross in them means that they are no longer available to view from the net, and the server which hosted the pic, has either gone away or removed the pic.

Nothing wrong with you or your PC, some of the pics were posted quite some time ago and are no longer viewable.
