i've noticed that in slimy stuff my 40 doesn't want to turn, a combo of mickey T claws not liking side traction, and a rear auto locker pushing forward...

any ideas to get it to turn

lower your tyre pressures to allow the tyre to bite more, what pressure are you normally running in them

Unlock the locker ;)

Another advantage of a selctable dif lock.

normal prob , if thre tyres arny gripping when tuned, eg no lateral grip(my prob) the car will go straight. maybe try a little bit less right foot

damn auto lockers.. guess i'll take it back and get my money back... all 200 bucks ;)

problem persists from idle to full right foot... so i can be at 800 rpm and still not have steering

Not really advisable - but a heavy right foot at the right time will cause the rears to spin up and turn the car around a bit (not for constant 4x4 though).. works more for on road or for conventional vehicles but if you are in a position of having to try something give it a go...

Caution: Don't try this with any sort of speed on board though or you may end up going straight ahead still and do some damage.

Cheers

i had very few problems with the auto locker and running brand new bf muddies now the auto locker is up front and all i want now is power steering. for the price of auto lockers it will be many years before i 'll get manual lockers

What Sea-Dog said ;D

A rear locker will cause understeer until you flick it into oversteer, which will be easier to do with the locker.

The transition will be more sudden than an unlocked vehicle too

yeah that'sall well and good.. i struggle when it's low speed stuff like lining up the ruts (and straightening up) before dropping into the creek

Again ... not usually advisable but the old line lock might be the trick...

Knock it out of 4x4 so you are only driving the back wheels. Revs up, foot with medium pressure on the brakes as they will apply to the front wheels a bit more than the rears..... drop the clutch... :o

If you get the rear wheels spinning up straight away they will not have much push forward and hopefully the fronts will hold in place while the rear moves around slightly...

It will either turn you around slightly or you will launch into the creek! either way it will be a bit of fun and get your adrenalin pumping away! ;D

probably not the best way (read safest) to do it, but you could try pulling the handbrake up to line up again..... :P
