Hopefully this wont happen to you but when we put the new 4y in mine it was leaking oil, turns out that the dowel pins from the head to block were too long. It was leaking oil out the top of the block. Ended up geting it fixed under warranty but took them ages to figure out what was going on, and from what i hear this has been a bit of a common problem in these new 4y's.

Hi, I'm doing a similar conversion myself soon but replacing a 3Y with a 4Y. Was the motor you got a New, 2nd hand or reconditioned. If it was new was it an asian import (like Rolin imports) or a genuine motor. Have you modified it in any way (I was thinking of a better cam "Crow Cams Melbourne" for better low rev power). Are there any other problems that I should expect.

To awnser some of your questions the engine was from them (rolin imports)and 3Y to the 4Y is what he done and no he didnt do any mods just swapped the bits he needed from the 3Y to the 4Y and put it in the car
