Just wondering if anyone goes camping with quad bikes or rides them on trails, I assume they just fall into the illegal category, like riding unregistered trail bikes around.. but just thought id ask.. I know of people crossing the simpson in them, etc but is there anything else anyone has done ?

mate on tracks the must be regisered like bikes, but they fall into the not to be registered catagory. They make allowances at Stocton but u still have to do a temp reg for the beach but I'm not sure how u go about it (we just take ours but know if we get caught we get a fine)

at school they used to have 2 farm quads to use in agriculture classes, and they had paddocks on the otherside of a road, they had "limmited use only" number plates on them, dont think it would matter if you use them excessivly police wouldn't know how much you rider them etcc.. this is in QLD by the way

in qld you can conditionaly register them but only for a designated area, but you may need a reason for it, eg park ranger in a state forest, and that will limit you to one certain area only.
I would love to be able to take mine into state forests but unfortunatly dont think its going to happen any time soon,

There's a couple of like quad bike parks you can take them to legally and ride kinda like Stockton Beach but privately owned with tracks and stuff pretty good fun..
Either that or take the risk and ride illegally only recently sold our two Yamaha Raptors 450s they were fantastic fun in the whole two years we had them never once copped a fine and used to ride almost every weekend..
Had a couple of times 50 taking the plate number of the workmate but they don't really bother issuing fines just give you a warning if they see you out there again..

I have private land I can ride bikes on and all that, but I was more so interested if anyone did any camping and touring and stuff like they do in the states with quads over here, I just brought a new polaris so was trying to find something other to do with it besides burning around the farm with it.. .
If any state parks or something allowed them it would be good, but I doubted it from the word go.. looks like Ill just stick to private land
