fantastic spot, how is the road and water temp at the minute? Were there in June road was pretty good and water was sensational. Spent the arvo on the beach fishing etc to get a sunset pic and when it went down the only cloud in the sky was right in front of it

Keep everything locked up and in sight. We rolled a work troopy on that road a couple years back, and by the time we hitched a 20min ride to get help to right the troopy, the winch and control isolators had been cut and unbolted by the locals. Goneski!!!!
Don't know if it is any better now that the Multi-functional Police Facility has been built, but they probably have enough to worry about with all that alchol in those dry communities!!!!

I know you'll find this hard to believe but I'd rather wtach paint dry than fish. So I just sit there and drink beer instaed. There was plenty going on though in the fishing stakes so I reckon they were all happy

Yea it is fantastic. As we live here we get up that way a bit. Not all the way as we turn off at Willie Creek and then up to Qoungdong Point. The water is almost to warm now at 35c. THe Jelly Fish are just starting so it's off to the pool for us soon.

Yes mate, having a ball. Those colurs are real, no photo shop, just a bit of focal length and shutter speed. I guess we were scared when we started this journy, pack up home and all that but it's working out well. I got work the day we got to Broome and the wife did as well. The kids love school. The boys do sports running through the sprinklers and the little one wears thongs to school, how good is that, just like the old days. They even have *jungle jims* here, no worries about law suites for falling off while you play. Just seeing and being relaxed is so good.

Anyway, enough waffle. Thanks all for the comments

Steve

Some great looking pics in there steveandviv. Brilliant contrast in the last two.

Hope you're still having a good time up there. Keep your eye out for any music by the Pigrim Brothers if you haven't already come across them.

Love their music BM, and Bamba as well. The music here has a real *Broome* feel. very laid back. And we sure are having a good time. Been raining for two days now with the Cyclone off the coast. It's gone past now but we've had about 150ml in two days so it's been a bit cold. it's only 30c but really humid as well

I got away before the cyclone. Working at a new minesite just south of Karratha at the moment - but home in Kal for Christmas. Just waiting to see what the damage is when we get back if it heads down our way at all.

Cool weather down here so far - it's only 41 (was 48 in the shade on site last week). Will probably be off to Esperance for a couple of days shortly - I need a fishing fix.

Haven't heard Bamba - will have to keep a look out for it.

Another good band from up there was "Dogs on the Bonnet" from Derby. Don't know if they're still around these days. They put out a CD of the same name when I was working up on Cockatoo Island a few years back.
