Cape trip planning

Hey all.. We have just not long got our 2nd fourbie.. a patrol.... Its all getting decked out and what not, as we are planning to do the cape next sept with our small group/club...... We have never been and were after any tips on where to stay, where is safe as we have kids, how much fuel you would average out in using. and would three weeks be enough time, as that is all the time we can get off.. Do you recomend two spares for the car, and one spare for the camper trailer.. any info would be awesome..
