A call was sent out to fellow forum members for the search of snow in the Mt Terrible area close to Jamieson in Victoria. We had myself Utedriver GUIV, Cruza Driver 100 series, Shonky 80 series, Tim B GUVI, 02-sr5 Hilux, GXL4x4 80 series, Gabo Landy.
After leaving Warburton around 9am on a saturday morning we headed towards the Reefton Spur in the search for some snow. Passing Cumberland Junction heading towards Woodspoint it was looking promising with plenty of snow off to the sides of the road. We reached Pheasant ck track where we aired down before heading up past the tower on Matlock. The fog was thick and the signs of some good snow was on the cards.....
We passed Frenchmans Tk with the snow over 6 inches deep in spots with Mt Terrible being our destination it it felt like it was going be fun day up there.
Not far past frenchmans the snow started to dissapear and the wind was howling through the tree tops. We stopped at Ryans Spur Hut for a quick bite to eat before heading up into higher country. There was only small signs of snow on the side of the track but it was wet from the snow melt of the past week. The mild weather during the week saw most of the snow gone. Once leaving a fog covered Mt Terrible after having a chat it was time to air up time down at the Jamieson-Eildon Rd and heading towards home passsing places wear the bush fires had been only months earlier. Pizza was enjoyed back at my place and a quick look at the video action from the day was put onto the TV.
Here are a few pics that I took from the weekend. I also took the video camera so not to many pics were taken. Here are a few that I have loaded so far I'l get some more up during the week for those interested!!
