When i was young i used to love going bush in my grandfathers 55 series. Watching sapplings disappear under the bullbar as we wound our way to a favourit fishing hole or sitting on the full length roofrack with the cousins squinting as the beach sand bought water to our eyes. He has since handed the keys over to me, it hasnt driven anywhere for many years but it has always been hangared. I've sand blasted the tiniest bits of rust from its panels and in the last 3 weeks replaced its aging running gear with something a little newer. It's actually sitting ontop of a 62 series chassis now, which had a 5L 1990 mustang engine in it, 5 gears, power steer, disc brakes front and 3.5 inches wider track. Its not quite finished but it looks great. I will post pictures soon. The idea was to also put the springs ontop of the axles but its sitting a little higher now so i might not be able to do that.

Hi Mick , it's always nice to say hello and welcome to the forum , that sounds like a lot of work that you're undertaking , but it's good that you can do it yourself , the big Ford motor should have plenty of 'Grunt" . Cheers.
