i have a standard 4.2 ,auto with 35s.all good except with the camper in tow. irecently had a spin in a gq with a 355 gmh stroker. iwas impressed ,to say the least.im doing the conversion, but ive had conflicting opinions between that and a gen3(350) which i was told , had a lot of initial problems.i would like some unbias feedback about both.i know marks adaptors can supply da bits, but id like to know about sumps extractors, high output alternators.basicly(the unknowns),that you might miss and not calculate for. cheers

i had my extractors custom made, use the original alternator, get a corvette sump cause they go on the opposite way, i had to do a body lift to have every thing sit 20 mm higher ( gearbox mounts and custom engine mounts) you can buy the wiring kits these days they plug straight into the GQ wiring. make sure you buy a really strong pressure plate cause the chev one doesnt have enough spring at really high revs . this is the GEN 3.

Ive had mine built for 4 years before marks adaptors even had a kit. Make sure you get the correct fuel pump (bosch) and high flow recirc pump for your surge tank(carter) Five core diesal chev radiator fits straight in with twin davies craig thermos, it will never get hot again. this should get you started (or thinking anyway). Ive had mine dynoed about 300 kw mafless tune .sludge
