I own a 2004 sdx 4x4 dual cab b2600. I am wondering what i can do to get better fuel enconomy. At the moment i get 350km to 390km out of a tank. That includes highway and city driving. I would also like to increase the power output. Because I believe the loss of power up hills adds to the low km's. I am not specicifcally mechanically minded. Some people have suggested that i get a better exhausts or power chips. The car has no mods at the moment it is factory standard. Does anyone know what would be the best for the lowests costs. Thanks

Petrol engine yeah? Better breathing may help via extractors and a free flowing exhaust, take any roof racks off that aren't being used, put a few extra PSI in the donuts. Make sure the motor is in good shape and getting plenty of clean air ( air filter). Next service, ask the mechanic about your poor economy - you may need a fresh set of HT leads or be running rich because your MAF sensor (or whatever its called ) has failed. It could be because you carry a tonne payload everywhere or drive like a demon? Best bet - do a dual fuel conversion - more range (because you'll get distance out of the gas tank then you can use the petrol too) and cheaper running if you normally run it on gas. If all else fails the turbo diesel should improve things - sell yours and buy one of those.

you may want to get your injectors cleaned as well.
