Gday all. I just purchased a new cd tuner for my kroozer and need to bin the original tape deck that came with it. Ive pulled out the deck and have noticed that as well as the red, yellow, blue and speaker wires, there is a whole other plug with a rainbow of other colour wires to it. Also my uhf has been connected to these wires. Do I need these wires at all, or do i just fork out the cash and make it someone elses problem!
If ur pretty good with electronics, purchase a gregorys book (i could only find one for a diesel but apart from the engine everything else seems the same) and using the wire diagrams do it urself. i did on mine but it was a little task. the wires were the wrong colours for some reason

Wouldn't worry about the other wires mate.... all you should need is the ones your old head deck were connected to....
a constant 12v
and ignition 12v
an earth
and speaker wires

Mate dont cut up your wiring loom just yet. I recently swapped my el crappo stock fujitsu cd player out of my 80 series for a pioneer one. All you have to do is go to Repco and ask for the loom adapters to go from (in my case) an 80 series to pioneer head unit. You will need 2, one that fits ur Tojo's plug and one that suits your new cd player. you plug em both together and then into your tojo and cdplayer and bob's your uncle it works!
I have had mine in for 3 weeks without a prob It works great
Seriously though the adapter thingies will make it so much esaier and you can revert it back to standard if you need to
have fun!
cheers

ive always used the adapter plugs - $30 bucks from autobarn, also as said above the gregories wire colours are completely wrong (cheap mothef*ckers), altherwise its not that hard to join it urself.

From memory:
Constant is the yellow wire
Ignition is the red wire
Earth is the brown wire
Speaker wires:
Blue and aqua on the right front speakers
and
pink and purple on the left front speakers
