G'day everyone,

We've been making some largely cosmetic updates lately to the website, The Shed, Classifieds and here on the forum. Things may look a little different, namely the new menu and some universal styling across the board. For users here on the forum we've added some quick links from the main menu to your PM inbox, the FAQ section, General Fourby Discussion and The Clubhouse.

If you have any suggestions, feel free to email them in to 4wd@expresspublications otherwise sit back and enjoy the updates!

Im not a fan of them, everything in the forum is now upside down and i reply at the top instead of the bottom, scrolls up and down even worse and i cant use the quick reply function. Images are slower as well.. and it loads even slower than before :confused:

And apart from being slow before (only during busy times of day which is fine) i had no issues with it, it ran fine and looked better in myopinion than what it does now, too much white and i think im almost blind from it!! The other bits on the main menu are a good idea.

Not sure what you have done, but the quick reply box and the advanced editing reply box have problems under Firefox, there is no visible cursor and I can't seem to move it to different parts of text, under IE things work fine, this only started to happen since the facelift. I would send this to the email address above but I've pointed out other website issues in the past relating to the shed through email and they either get lost or are just ignored.

I'm really having trouble with posting anything. Typing anything is way up to s__t. Most of the time there is no cursor, the my arrow keys won't navigate in this box as I type, can only input at the very top of box, before quotes. It's really broken!!!!

Try it in IE Dave, doing this works fine for me, can use it as a workaround until Tyce gets it sorted.

No point in re-inventing the wheel.

Hmm.. No dramas here with Opera 9.6, but I can see that you can't click in the "Quick Reply" box in Firefox. I'll go and take a look, see how we can fix it.

Also with the styling, we have to use the uniform grey background, but I can see if the pinkish/sand colour the forum is can go a bit darker, the contrast is a bit strange at the moment I agree.

Yeah, I thinking the whole text editing box is not loading properly for Firefox. Will be glad to see it fixed.

Any chance of making the editing box bigger in the advanced mode? Twice the height, would allow all the smilies to fit to the right then too. Just an idea.

Hi guys,

We've discovered that this could be an issue with the latest update of Firefox. A quick Google shows that a lot of people globally have similiar issues with FCK Editor, vBulletin and the latest update of Firefox as of last week. We're working on a way around this, in the mean time try using the extended reply (by clicking the Reply button as opposed to Quick Reply) or use Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, Camino or Opera.

hey since this update (or atleast, the date this was posted) i havn't been able to edit my messages when typing them, the left and right buttons don't work, copy/paste doesn't work, can't click locations....basicly making messages is just buggered....
having to resort to posting the message and then editing it to be able to change things earlier in th e post, really annoying

using firefox 2.0

the screendoesn't scroll down with the text either, acts as if it doesn't exist...

*firefox 3.0 *tea,m cab't edit my typo above...

What is the bookmarks thing and the tabs thing above the quick reply ?

The bookmark options let you put up a popular or useful thread found here in the forum on some large social networking sites that share links from around the web.

The keywords are something that I believe the thread author can add to quickly define for search engines what content will be talked about in the thread.

This site is a mine of info.
BUT... why is it so slow to load?
Some cheap and nasty sites load twice as fast.Is a slow server cheaper?
It's put me off using it.

Love the mags though!! And a great site.

It won't get answered here mate, if you use Firefox get a add on called ad blocker plus speeds things up ten fold not having the crap ads at the top and sides of the page.

Hey folks, is someone working on the forums at the moment? If you come to the forum directly it says there forum is getting maintenance done, but if you click on a url in one of the subscription emails the forum works, so is it up or down?

Hope this is in the right section as i couldn't find a site administrators section.
Just wanted to know if you could make it so when people do trip reports
http://4wdaction.com.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=129
that they put a prefix or the like on what state they are reporting on would make it easier to sort through them with a search tools?
Thanks Pat

they are supposed to, there is a sticky that explains what they should do. People don't read stickies though obviously
