Hi Guys.
I would greatly apprciate your help with any pics of the pipe work for a front mount cooler on diesel 80 series cruisers.
I can't see how the plumbing can fit pas the aircon pipes on the front right hand side of the car. also I run 35 & 36 inch tyres and it looks like the pipes would rub on full lock if they went in through the inner guard.
Any pics of what you have done would be awesome!
I'm sure there are other blokes out there thinking the same thing.
Cheers.
Nick
be interesting to see some replys, will watch this thread :D

Come on guys. There's got to be someone out there who wants to share their wisdom and pics of how they plumbed their cooler???only if you want to see it done to a 100 series, and your worries about tyre rubbing are quite valid. i run fairly small rubber and have already had one mark on the pipes that looked like it was from the tyre hitting it.

Yeah some pics of your set up would be great! Any inner guard and engine bay shots would be much appreciated.
Cheers.

you can see the mark on the pipe in the second pic which i assume came from the tyre rubbing on it. the cutting of the inner guard wasn't done real neat, the guys who installed it did the cutting, i'd have done it abit neater myself. truth is i never really look at the cutting job other then when i look at these pics, so it doesn't bother me that it was done abit roughly.

Great pics! thanks mate!
Very similar to what I have drawn up already.
Have you had any issues with plumbing coming undone or shaking lose?
Thanks again.
Any 80's out there with front mounts???

Oh I forgot to ask, if you had any issues with mounting the cooler, due to the aircon pipes being in the way on the front right side of the grill?
Sorry for the twenty questions, it just looks real tight there.

Hey stock gtr, I got a front mount cooler on my factory turbo '80' ,Ill try and dig up some photo's if I get time this weekend I'll take some more and send them to you.
It is actually a safari turbo systems genuine kit so it is a big sized intercooler and a factory looking kit.

That would be awesome! Thanks Tuff80.
My main concern is trying to run the plumbing past the aircon pipe between the grill and the aircon core, then feeding the plumbing through the wheel arch. I figure once I plumb it, that I will just have to put up with the 36's rubbing on the piping in the guard.
Thanks again.

no issues with it coming undone to date, but haven't done any heavy corragations since fitting it nearly a year ago. the inland track on fraser around hook point would be the bumpiest track (corragation wise) it has seen since being fitted.
i didn't fit the intercooler so don't know if they encountered any problems with the air con pipes, they didn't mention anything to me. if i get a chance this weekend i'll take some pics around grill area etc. and show how close it all is.
