Gday I am just chasing the correct thread size for the solid axle front hilux power steering hose connections that screw into the steering box. They look like 3/4 or 5/8 BSP fittings but seems weird for a car with all metric parts to have this sort of fitting?
I need the size of threads so I can have a pair of custom hoses made to suit the conversion, you would think with the internet at the touch of a mouse away I could easily find it out, but no not as easy as it seems

hmmm okay does that mean the thread diameter is 18mm with 1.5mm spaces between the threads and is that a BSP fitting and what size is the pipe flange? kind of looks like 3/8" at first glance but can't be sure
also the hilux book says to use dexron II for the power steering system but the commodore book says to use dexron III with it's power steering pump, would dexron III be fine for the hilux power steering box? I figure the pump needs the correct grade fluid first

The low pressure port is M17 x 1.5mm, go to a wrecker and get a low pressure steering box hard line from a hilux or landcruiser. This will alow you to use a push on 3/8" hose and hose clamps.

The high pressure port is a M16 x 1.5mm, for this I use a Ryco M16x1.5 to 9/16" JIC adaptor then have the power steering hose made with a 9/16" JIC end. The adaptor part number is M7-1609
