hilux tacho!!

hey everyone.
i have a 1990 model hilux ln106 and recently i have been experiencing a problem with my tacho. the tacho needle bounces or shakes in between 2100-2500 reves and is slowly becoming worse over time. has anyone had any experience with this type of problem or know the cause or way of fixing the problem? any help greatly appreciated

jeeze liam, your having all sorts of problems with the lux lately .. haha why dont u just sell it and buy a patrol, their much better you know :crazy: ... haha
anyways as soon as u get your pinion seal fixed i wanna go sugarloaf!!!! im itching to hit the dirt!

I have the same model exactly and my tacho is crap too. When I hit the dash it comes to life for a few seconds and then dies again. I think it's got a bad connection in the dash which is too hard to fix for a lazy bugger like me...

G'day chunky... taxi's tacho is fixed now ... the insulation on the tacho wire in the engine bay had worn through and was fouling on the engine block ... he re-insulated it and tied it away from the engine which seemed to fix it ... maybe something similar is happenin with yours??
