Resonance? Something vibrating at just the right frequency. Could be the pump or sender being a bit loose, or perhaps another bolt becoming loose, causing the tank to vibrate against the chasis?
Pure speculation.

LUXury, you dont say whether it is a diesel or petrol, but my guess if it is a petrol is the noise that you hear is the fuel pump - different ones can be alot noisier than others, good luck.;) .

I dont know about a ringing fuel tank but my old '95 hilux used to have a 'singing' fuel tank. :o

It turned out to be the vent in the filler relieving. Try opening the cap and see if it stops.

I have the same sound coming from my hilux fuel tank too I'm hoping that its just something minor & not the fuel pump it self
