Hi all,

Given the previous thread re Diesel Prices I want to try to limit the pain at the pump ( if its actually / economically possible) by a Diesel/Gas Conversion.

I have a 2003 2.5lt T/d Bravo Dual Cab and intend to keep it longer than a couple of footy seasons hence the interest in this.

Have seen one Eco-shot installed on a Toyo but I'm looking for a Courier or Bravo 2.5 T/d owner who has converted to diesel /gas and who is willing to
a. Recommend it & b.Tell me why or c. Discourage me & d. Tell me why

I also interested in anyone with any make model that has done an Eco-shot conversion - same questions

BTW - love the forum, its brilliant !!!! :thumb:

Regards ( & Hi to all )

Not familiar wit the eco-shot but if you read all the diesel/gas threads (you may have already done this) it should explain all the pro's-con's of the gas in general.
The systems to stay clear of are the vapour pickup systems. On 'off camber' angles or hill climbs, rough roads etc.... it is possible to pick up liquid and this will do damage to your vehicle.
The liquid pickups are better and use a converter very similar to a petrol setup to convert the liquid to vapour for delivery to the motor.

Fuel economy on my Patrol stayed roughly the same overall but the diesel portion has dropped significantly.

System costs aren't cheap but if the rebate is still going that will improve this considerably, $2000 from the government on a $3k-$4k job is great. The it is just a matter of doing the sums to see how long it will take to pay for itself and your in business.
AND remember that gas is about half the cost of diesel.

Sorry I don't have info specific to your question but I hope this helps.

Thanks guys,

Yep, I trolled this site for every bit of info I can find on Diesel / Gas systems.
And hunted down every website that i can find.

Particularly what I'm interested in is any installation on a 2.5litre T/d Bravo or similar. Actually doesnt matter which system , I'm still doing the basic home work on the idea

BUT, and its possibly a big but ( the world is full of Toyotas & Nissans it would seem), what I'm actually looking for is an owner of one of my vehicles that is willing to actually give me "real world" info on a conversion as a basis to start from.

Vapour or Liquid is not a big issue with me, I don't do a lot of serious offroading, matter of fact offroad is usually limited to mostly farmland for shooting / spotlighting or the odd session getting through the hills/ranges to get to shooting spots so turning off the gas and going diesel offroad is no real problem
