17" tyres and rims for KJ!!!!

Hi All,

I've got the opurtunity to buy 5 new 17" rims and tyres for $1800.
Which sounds pretty bloody good.
My question is can I swap them straight out for my 16" tyres and rims on my 2006 KJ cherokee sport.
If so will I also need to adjust the gearing ratio on the automatic trans..
Would appreciate any advice.

If the tyre diameters are the same nothing will change. If the new tyres are smaller the engine will rev more if they are bigger it will rev less. Just swap them and give it a test drive.

Or you can post both of the tyre sizes, exactly as they are shown on the sidewalls, and someone will answer you question. ;)

if you change rolling diamater (tyres) your stealership can do a pinion reset, you simply need to know the number of revolutions per mile or km (can't remember off the top of my head).

make sure your offset is ok...

and if you're lifted you may run into rubbing issues on your sway bar at the front.
