Anyone know how to convert my diesel to run on straight Vegie Oil? Has anyone here tried? I've seen VegieCars.com and their system looks interesting. Anyone have any ideas. I own a Hilux with a 3L in it.

Roughlux,
Not sure of the exact complexities of the Hilux 3L, as to what modifications would be needed, as some engines take to WVO better than others. At a minumum you'd need a heater arrangement.
There's heaps of info out there for converting the Mercedes 300d sedans and wagons to run on WVO, because pretty much all they need is the pre-heater. Here's a site I like that's got heaps of info, but google will be your friend here:
Biodiesel Benz: Converting a Mercedes Diesel to Run Vegetable Oil or Used Cooking Oil (http://www.noendpress.com/caleb/biodiesel/index.php)
As for your particular case though, all I can suggest is that you do as much research as possible into what makes the 300d engines so good to use WVO with, and then see if your engine has comparable specifications. Either that, or jury-rig a system with a jerry-can of warm WVO on your roof rack and a gravity-feed line down to your injector pump, and give it a shot!!!
Good luck!
Matto :)

You'll need a second fuel tank for a start. You start it on dino, warm it up, swtch to the vege oil, and then switch back to Dino before you stop. I'm not sure where you'd fit the second tank, but maybe you could get switching valaves and solenoids from a wrecker (off an 80 or 75)

Google 'biofuelsforum' its an Australian forum and you'll get plenty of help there.

There are a couple of local guys here in SA that you should talk to, Roughlux. One of them is pretty much at the leading edge of this sort of thing, and has a couple of vehicles to prove the validity of his methods. He has driven from Adelaide to Cairns and back on less than $50 worth of 'diesel' fuel thru using WVO and a system of his own design. I'll PM his contact details as soon as I can catch him to give the OK
Cheers!

The hardest part is sourcing the wvo. Every man and his dog has dibs on the stuff now and the shops are cashing in to the highest bidder.
If I could get some I'd like to make system that filters it first then mixes with the dino on board. Dont know what ratio or whether the viscocity when mixed would be thin enough though.
