Hi guy's, will a 1HZ fit into an older model 75 series which currently has a blown up 2H in it? If so what modifications will have to be made?

I have not seen this myself, so this post will be a little heresay but I believe the mounts and gearbox bellhousing to be different, and the best swap which would be almost bolt in I believe would be a 12HT from a 60 series.

[12HT factory turbo direct injected 2H, not a bad engine]

I may know wherethere is a low KM 1hZ turbo intercooled with gearbox and transfer case though, if the person doing the conversion has some $$$$$ to spend.

The person with the 1HZ replaced it with a 1hdte in a 105 series. [another very close to bolt in conversion]

Thanks shed, what sort of dollars would he be looking at for a 12HT? It is actually my dad's boss and I don't think he wants to spend to much on the ol girl, he has sourced another 2h for it for two and a half with about 140,000 on the clock.
I just wondered what straight foward conversions were available for these trucks thought the 2h -> 1HZ might be relatively easy seeing as they came out with them.

I would expect a 12ht to be 3-4k

Cool thanks for the info, i'll relay that onto him, my bet is he'll probly stick with the 2h.
It's an old 75 with about 450,000 on the clock, genuine work/farm horse. wouldn't be worth throwing to much dough into it.

The 2H is a non cross flow design. To convert the 1HZ you would be rerouting fuel pipes or exhaust (not sure which but on teh 1HZ exhaust os the drivers side and fuel the passenger). The clutch slave cylinder on the 1HZ is on teh passenger side (opposite side on 2H's I think).

You would need to source the whoel engine gearbox transfer case to make it doable and then be up for tailshaft alterations etc I think.

I'm with Darren 12HT in its place. A very good engine.

mmmmmm

my 2H is crossflow. Inlet on drivers side, exhaust on passenger side.
