I have just come back from an eventful wet/muddy weekend trip at Loveday4x4adventures.
After a full day of dipping in and out of mudholes I got the dash lit up like a christmas tree. (handbrake-at/temp-air filter-battery) Now I have had this come up on me once before after a muddy play, the next day all cleared away.
But this time it did not clear.
We went for a drive, stopped and then tried starting again, nothing. Jump started, got moving but not for long. I was running on the battery. The alternator has had a splash of mud and wedged open the brushes. I owe Tony owner of Loveday4x4 a big one. He offered his shed full of all the needed tools to pull off the alt and clean it out, in the end the champ was helping. We completed the whole recon in 30 mins.

Other than that I had an ripper of a time.

Now my next project is to seal in the alternator from the elements cause it looks like I can get mud in there.
Any sugestions on that would be great.
