Have just finished fitting a set of 60 series front springs to my truck. It origanly had 40 series springs that the drivers side had sagged.Had the 60 series springs siting there so made them fit.So also have new shackles and bushes.Als fitted 4runner hubs and disc spacers to increase the wheel track to match the rear. This I believe after a test drive, has caused the steering to be a bit sensitive to shimmy(massive understatement). Will be getting a wheel alignment done, have replaced recently but prior to the above work the bell crank housing and bush.Any other ideas on reducing or elimanating the death wobbles?

the 60's front springs are slightly, very slightly, shorter than 40's (1070 Vs 1058) and the center pin location is differant, hows the shackle angle? and how far forward did it relocate the axle? I'd say its just a castor prob easy fix. Hope you didn't buy a genuine toy bell crank and bush (last time I priced the bush it was $200 and $290 for the tapered pin......) also with the center arm/bell crank, the nut on top is to be tightened fully then backed off 1/4 turn, the bolt is to be tightend fully (if either are too tight or too loose it will cause jerky steering or wandering) tryed to find some tension specs for the adjusters, but there are none, the above adjustments are from the FSM

Thanks for they reply fullmetaljacket. The shackle angle is good.Slightly forward of center.I split the difference with the spring location by redrilling the locating holes in the axle perches and U bolt plate 25mm froward.this brings the axle forward about 25mm.Bugger of a job drilling axle perches with the axle still under the truck.the bell crank was a 2nd hand unit with a good bush.A mounting lug on the housing of the old one broke.
I now believe I have found what the problem was.Me,basicly:o I did not take into account the difference in the width of the 60 series spring and the 40 series shackle mount on the chassi.DOH.So now have fitted a big washer to take up the difference. So will see if that solves the problem.
Truck certainly rides better with these springs.
