hey
i am thinking of buying an XJ jeep Cherokee.
it has done just over 140,000 Kilometres and looks like it is in good nic.
just a few questions.
how easy are they to lift? i want about a 4" lift.
how much money are they to Lift?
my mate said that the radiators in the cherokee's arn't the best and they overheat. is this true?
any help would be appreciated. :truck:

More than 2 in will need driveline adjustment and more than 32's will need to cut guards
Overheating an issue - need too do a bonnet vent or lift and can adjust water pumps a bit
other than that will be a very good offroader

Same as tasar said,

l put 4.5" superflex lift on mine, easy to do around $2,500 includeds postage to Tasmania, but no shocks. I found wooders to be the best price around for anything for jeep.

Mine got hot on sand driving and towing, put some SAAS bonnet vents and its been good. havent been in sand yet.

Same as everyone else has said.

As stated you will need to do some driveline mods ie a SYE will be required over 3" lift but even with a 3" lift you will be surprised where the will go with some decent tyres and some lockers....

You will be pleasantly surprised how far they go with just good mud tires and nothing else, but a lift is the way to go.

Mate a 2inch lift and a set of 31s under the xj will do wonders you can get a 2 inch lift with shockies included for around $1500 but the best ones are a bit bigger and a bit dearer and found at woodersgarage.com.au. As for the overheating bonnet vents are a very cheap and easy fix
