Sorry for asking the obvious repeat question but i couldnt find it on the search. Im looking at a xj but would like to know fuel figures around town and on the highway. Also would fitting 32" tyres make a huge difference to economy.
cheers

I have asked on that site as well, and just like this site i can't get an answer. Why are Cherokee owners to reluctant to give me a simple answer. All i want to know is a estimate of fuel economy around town and then on the highway. I have used the search bar and can't find it, i have tried googling it a hundred times to no avail why is it so hard.
Surely there is a cherokee owner that knows their fuel economy on this site. I just want to make sure its not to heavy before i rush out and buy one. Help pleeeaaassse.

Hi Zook, i was looking at getting a xj but ended up getting a kj cherokee instead, from what i remember you'll be looking at about 16-18 around town and 14-16 on the highway. That is what i was told anyway hope that helps !!:thumb:

To answer your questions.

Stock economy is anywhere from about 11/100 to 16/100 mine used to get an average of about 13/100

32's make a big difference, I now average around 16/100 with a bit less on the freeway and a bit more around town. That's also with stock ratios.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Steve

Awesome thats exactly what i needed to know. Thanks heaps for the info guys. The fuel economy isnt as bad as i thought it might be. Sounds like around 15l/100 average if you dont sink the right boot in. I'm going with 31's now because 32'' required more lift than i wanted to go.

Mine gets around 11-12's on the highway 2" lift standard tyres, 31's or 32's will make quite a difference especially if you don't regear....

When I went through the Simpson with a mate, he was driving a chero, and he was getting about 28L/100km. He was getting anywhere between 12-20L/100km on the highway (very dependent on the right foot). He's running 30" BFG MT.
