Hi there

I figure I should introduce myself. Name's Paul, I'm 26, married, no kids, live on the central coast, work in sydney and am currently between 4WD’s but looking at getting a Sierra or maybe an old Hilux

I used to drive an 84 Subaru wagon with a 2” lift and 215/65/14 tyre’s, went well on the beach, not in the bush. Now I drive a commodore, also not good in the bush, hence the need for another 4B

Thanks for the welcome

I know of a Bundy for sale on Manns Rd - West Gosford for 4,500 if you are interested.

My budget including mod’s is around 5k as it will be our third car and only used as a toy. Having said that, I may have a look over the weekend. How would a Bundy go at Stockton?

Go a Hilux cheap easy to work on easy to modify, most are already modified, good reasale, almost unbreakable.

Should go OK on Stockton.
My Prado is based on the same running gear, has similar sized motor & weighs a bit more & goes OK up there.
It already has a spring lift & looks like a good truck (at the speed limit anyway)

Private sale.
It is on the eastern side of the road near Reeves St.
I am going to Sydney tomorrow morning, on my way back, if I see it I will get you some details from it.

That explains why I didn’t see it, I only went through the industrial area.
I will probably be going down to Gossie tomorrow so I’ll just go the long way. Thanks for the offer though.
Any opinions on the 1litre Sierra, I saw a soft top for $1200, Personally I think I’ll hold out for a 1.3litre, preferably the wide track.

1 Litre IMO is a POS.
Go for the 1.3 if you are to get a Sierra.

Remember though, it may not be suitable for weekends away as it has a limited carrying capacity (look in the back).
That is why we sold ours.

Let us know how you go.
If you want somewher a little rougher that a dirt road ;D to test it on, let me know, I'll put my muddies on & take you for a play.
Warning though, the ruts are deep & there is a rollover risk if you aren't very experience at straddling.

I test drove the Bundy.
Its got 100 series coils for a 5” lift, great flex, would be good in the bush, somewhat sketchy on the road though. It’s also got some shuddering issues. No, it’s not going to be mine.

Go for the 1.3L Suzuki Sierra Wide track...It doesn't have much room if the rear seat is in, but that is easily removed. They are cheap little truck that can be modified cheap. But still the wide track isn't like a toyota so you still have 2 worry about tipping. By the way, The length of a LWB is slightly smaller than a Patrol SWB.

Humpy's back Off the Road

Ive just bought a 89 Sierra soft top.

Its pretty stock at the moment, 215 tyres. Some mods will be on the cards once the financial controller gets over the initial purchase.
